Cory Tanner is the Founder and President of Exit IQ, the nation’s leading exit planning firm. Cory has been instrumental in every phase of the firm’s growth and development since its inception, working directly with business owners to optimize company value, navigate complex transitions, and prepare for successful exits. Under Cory’s leadership, Exit IQ has advised hundreds of companies across diverse industries on strategic readiness, succession planning, and maximizing enterprise value.

Before founding Exit IQ, Cory built one of the nation’s leading commercial energy firms, growing it from startup to 82 employees and establishing it as a market leader in commercial energy solutions. His experience scaling a company to that level gives him unique insight into the challenges and opportunities facing business owners as they grow, lead, and eventually exit their companies.

Cory has consulted with founders, management teams, and boards of directors on key initiatives including shareholder agreements, buy-sell structuring, tax and estate alignment, equity incentive plans, and pre-transaction value acceleration. Cory lives with his wife and four children in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, where they enjoy an active lifestyle of horseback riding, boating, snow skiing, and time together in the outdoors.
