Ebony Frelix Beckwith is the Chief Philanthropy Officer and Executive Vice President, Marketing at Salesforce. As a leader within Salesforce’s dedicated social impact team, Salesforce.org, Ebony directs programs and strategic grants focused on education and workforce development. Ebony is responsible for engaging 45,000 employees in community service opportunities, administering millions of dollars in grants to improve communities around the world, and leading marketing for Salesforce.org.

Ebony and her team have achieved meaningful results with their work internationally in the areas of education and workforce development. Locally, she has led partnerships with San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and Oakland Unified School District (OUSD). Since 2013, Salesforce.org has given more than $67 million dollars and adopted 100+ schools, as well as provided teacher training, technology and infrastructure to Bay Area schools in need. The partnership with SFUSD has led the district to become the first in the nation to require computer science curriculum for all students from pre-K to 12th grade.

For her accomplishments at Salesforce.org, Ebony has been recognized as one of San Francisco Business Times’ Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business, as well as one of San Francisco Business Times’ Beyond the Check award recipients two years in a row. She was also honored with the 2016 Rising Star Award.

As a champion for women and girls, Ebony serves on the board of Women’s Funding Network, is a member of the Women Who Code Advisory Board, and is an executive sponsor for the Salesforce Women’s Network.

Ebony extends her support of youth, education, and workforce development through her service on the board of the Warriors Community Foundation and as member of the Technical Advisory Board of Year Up Bay Area, an organization with a mission to close the opportunity divide by providing underrepresented young adults with the skills, experience, and support to excel in 21st century jobs. She also serves on the board of Hamilton Families, San Francisco’s leading service provider to homeless families, and is proud to support their goal of ending homelessness in the San Francisco Unified School District.

Ebony also previously served on the Workforce Investment Board of San Francisco (WISF) for five years, overseeing and setting the direction for San Francisco’s Workforce System.

Prior to joining Salesforce.org in 2014, Ebony worked for five years in Salesforce’s technology division as the head of technology business operations. Ebony began her career at Washington Mutual, where she spent eleven years managing technology.

Ebony holds a bachelor’s degree in computer and information sciences from Golden Gate University.
