Joel is the Managing Partner for the West Region of Grant Thornton, which consists of 13 locations extending throughout the western states and Hawaii. As the Region Managing Partner, he is responsible for all operations of the firm, including client service, client relationships and professional matters. Joel is ultimately responsible for the overall satisfaction of clients in the West Region, and the appropriate deployment of firmwide and regional resources to ensure client satisfaction and high quality client service. ner of the Boston office of the Firm. Prior to joining Grant Thornton in 2002, Joel was a partner with Arthur Andersen. During his 30 years there, Joel’s responsibilities included audit partner and various industry group leadership roles in the Boston market, as well as several years as the Managing Partner for the Hartford, Connecticut office.

Experience
Joel has more than 35 years of public accounting experience. He has worked with numerous entities in the manufacturing, technology, real estate and financial service industries.

Professional qualifications and memberships
Joel is a certified public accountant. He has been active as a director and volunteer with numerous community, cultural and civic organizations, including the California Chamber of Commerce, the United Way and Junior Achievement. In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Education
Joel graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
