Penn Club, 30 W. 44th St., New York, NY Event Date: Monday, September 21st, 2009 at 3:00pm
Engage in lively discussions with your peers on key leadership issues. Modeled after CEO Boot Camps, these half-day, closed-door sessions open with a brief presentation by a functional expert who facilitates the brain exchange among members. Open to CEO Connection Members only. Sooner or later organizations will start hiring again. Some sooner. Others later. Either way, all our organizations need to be ready to manage talent in a new way in line with the new reality. Moving into a new position is one of the toughest challenges people face. Nearly half of new employees fail in their first eighteen months. Critical recruiting and onboarding mistakes can be devastating for organizations and new employees alike. But how can we avoid them? Learn how to recruit, hire and accelerate talent in the new reality. This is important because of the time value of accelerated performance on its own, and because delivering better results faster is the best way to reduce the risk of failure for any new employee. This forum will dig into how to manage onboarding as an integrated whole with discrete steps around aligning the organization and then acquiring, accommodating, assimilating and accelerating new employees. Attendees will be ready to manage the different stages of onboarding to deliver better results faster and to help others do the same. In this session, George Bradt will lead a discussion on: - Restructuring team roles and composition for growth after the recession and getting everyone aligned around the new direction.
- The different perspectives of the recruiting organization and candidate during the pre-contact, pre-offer and pre-acceptance stages of onboarding.
- Leveraging the fuzzy front end between acceptance and day one to get a head start with pre-boarding conversations.
- Managing day one and the all-important initial impressions.
- Accelerating the development of a high performing team and deliver better results faster over a new employee’s first 100 days in a new role.
