Joe Griesedieck is the Vice Chairman of Korn/Ferry International, the world's leading provider of executive human capital solutions. He is based in the firm’s San Francisco office. With more than 25 years in the executive search profession, Joe’s prior experience includes 19 years with Spencer Stuart, where he served in a variety of management roles, including two terms as the firm’s global Chief Executive Officer. During his tenure as Chief Executive Officer, the firm achieved record revenues and profitability, opening 16 new offices around the world. He was the firm’s Senior Board Services Recruiter on the West Coast, and also served as Co-Head of the Strategic Leadership Services Practice in North America. He began his career in the executive search profession with Russell Reynolds Associates, establishing that firm’s offices in San Francisco and the Silicon Valley.

Mr. Griesedieck's executive search experience has focused primarily on senior management recruiting and for boards of directors. As head of Korn/Ferry’s Boards and CEO practices, he has worked extensively across multiple industries, including telecommunications, health care, financial services, and consumer goods & services. He has completed more than 400 executive search assignments, including engagements for Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer positions, as well as outside directors for both public and private companies. Today, Joe is considered to be one of the premier industry leaders and has been recognized in multiple independent publications about the executive search profession.

Joe is a graduate of Brown University. Prior to entering the executive search profession in 1979, he was a Group Vice President with Alexander & Baldwin, Inc., and spent 12 years with the Falstaff Brewing Corporation, concluding his tenure as President and Chief Operating Officer. He also served as a Director of the company.
